Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

RoamRecipe collects only the information needed to respond to custom itinerary requests and to keep the site secure. You control non-essential cookies (Analytics, Marketing) through our cookie consent banner — see Section 5.

1. Who We Are

RoamRecipe is a travel consultancy operated by Alfredo Berardi, based in Switzerland (roamrecipe.ch). This policy explains what information we collect through the site, why, and how it is handled.

2. What We Collect

If you submit the custom itinerary request form, we collect the information you provide: your name, email address, destination, travel dates, group size, and any details you share about your trip. We do not collect this information unless you actively submit the form.

We use a cookie consent system that lets you choose whether to allow Analytics or Marketing cookies. Essential cookies — required for the site to function, such as the form and security features — are always active. See Section 5 for full details on cookie categories and how to change your choice at any time.

3. Third-Party Services We Use

To operate the site and process requests, we rely on a small number of third-party services, each with its own privacy practices:

  • Netlify Forms — processes and stores form submissions so we can respond to your request.
  • Google reCAPTCHA — protects the contact form from spam and automated abuse. Google may set a cookie and process your IP address as part of this service. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • ipapi.co — used on the contact form to detect your country automatically, to pre-fill a field and reduce friction. Your IP address is sent to this service for that purpose only.
  • Gumroad — processes all payments for itinerary purchases. RoamRecipe never sees or stores your payment card details; this is handled entirely by Gumroad. See Gumroad's Privacy Policy.
  • Google Fonts — loads typefaces used on this site. No personal data is collected for this purpose beyond standard web requests.

4. How We Use Your Information

Information submitted through the contact form is used solely to respond to your custom itinerary request — to schedule a call, understand your trip, and prepare your personalised itinerary. We do not use this information for marketing, and we do not share it with third parties beyond the service providers listed above.

5. Cookie Categories & Your Choices

When you first visit roamrecipe.ch, a cookie banner lets you choose which categories of cookies to allow. Your choice is stored on your device and respected on future visits.

  • Essential — always active, cannot be disabled. Covers form functionality, security (including reCAPTCHA), and remembering your cookie preference itself.
  • Analytics — optional. If you consent, we may use tools such as Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site in aggregate, so we can improve it. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Marketing — optional. This category is not currently used on the site and is reserved for potential future features. If that changes, this policy will be updated accordingly.

You can change your cookie choice at any time via the "Cookie Preferences" link in the site footer.

6. Data Retention

We retain custom itinerary request details for as long as needed to fulfil your request and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping. You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us — see Section 8.

7. Your Rights

Under Swiss data protection law (nLPD/revFADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to how your data is processed

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.

8. Contact

For any questions about this privacy policy or to exercise your data rights, please email travel@roamrecipe.ch.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
